Basic ethical principles in astrology
What the Astrologer first needs to promise:
1. First and foremost, make the decision to never harm the client.
2. I will be supportive to all clients who come to me to ask for astrological interpretations or advice with caution and respect, acknowledging and encouraging their autonomy and encouraging them to make their own decisions.
3. I will never unnecessarily frighten clients with extreme predictions, nor lead them to lose hope, and I will always emphasize that each astrological configuration can manifest itself in different ways.
4. I will maintain strict confidentiality to any information that has been shared with me privately as a professional secret, except in situations where my silence may be harmful to a client or another person.
5. I will be careful to maintain appropriate and clear boundaries with the client regarding my personal desires and goals, whether they be of sexual, financial or emotional nature.
6. I will maintain and constantly improve my astrological skills, and if the clients’ needs exceed my abilities – I will refer clients to another astrologer who is qualified for a given job or an expert in another area that may be of greatest benefit to the client.
7. I will be particularly familiar with those parts of ethical standards and rules that apply to my field of expertise in astrology.
